FAQs

Delivery

Where do you deliver, and on which days?

We deliver to homes across Nairobi on Thursdays or Saturday mornings, and to the rest of Kenya on Fridays. Nanyuki customers collect their Hung Box from the Butcher's Block in Nanyuki Town on Fridays. See our shipping policy for the full list of areas and towns.

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery costs Ksh 300 anywhere in our Nairobi delivery area and Ksh 550 for the rest of Kenya. Collection from the Butcher's Block in Nanyuki is free.

I live outside the listed towns. Can I still order?

Yes. Outside Nairobi we deliver to your home if you live in or within 5 km of one of the towns listed in our shipping policy. If you live further away, you can collect your Hung Box from your nearest Fargo branch on Fridays.

The Hung Club

What is the Hung Club?

The Hung Club is The Well Hung Butcher's meat subscription: you choose a Hung Box of grass-fed, 100% traceable Kenyan beef and we deliver it to your home.

How often can I get a box?

You can order as often as you like: weekly, fortnightly, every three weeks or monthly.

Can I pause or cancel?

Yes, you can pause or cancel any time. You're not tied in.

How do I re-order?

We'll contact you on WhatsApp on Mondays to re-order. We make it quick by sharing a cart, so you just pay with M-Pesa.

Which box should I choose?

The Well Hung is our biggest box, with a mix of kitchen staples, ready-to-eat treats and some of our best cuts. The Smoker is built around the BBQ. The Regular is a reliable supply of everyday essentials that changes every fortnight.

Do the boxes change?

Yes. The Well Hung and The Smoker have a new menu each month, and the contents stay the same until the next month's menu drops. The Regular has two different mixes each month, a new box each fortnight.

How do I get 10% off?

Subscribe to the Hung Club newsletter and we'll email you a 10% discount code to use at checkout. You also get 10% off for every friend you refer with your Hung Club Rewards link, and 10 referred friends earns you a free box.

Our beef

Where does your beef come from?

All our livestock comes directly from members of AgWild, a cooperative of conservancies and regenerative farms in the Laikipia and Mt Kenya area, so every animal is 100% traceable back to the farmer.

What does grass-fed mean at The Well Hung Butcher?

All our beef is born and raised on natural grasslands.

Do you use hormones or antibiotics?

Our producers use no added hormones. The majority of our animals never get antibiotics; they are used only to treat sick livestock for welfare reasons, and all animals undergo minimum withdrawal periods before being processed.

Do you sell dry-aged beef?

Yes. Our boxes include WHB dry-aged steaks such as sirloin, rib eye and rump, and dry-aged osso buco. Each box page lists this month's cuts.

Is the meat fresh or frozen?

All products in our Hung Boxes are frozen.

Which box is best for a BBQ?

The Smoker. It's built around the BBQ, with sausages, burgers, chorizo, a proper steak cut and a surprise from the butcher every month.
